Designed Around a Dog's Shape
The relationship between the neck, chest, shoulders, belly, and back matters. We think about those proportions so clothing sits naturally on a dog instead of behaving like a downsized human shirt.

Dog clothing shouldn't start with the shape of a human T-shirt. It should start with the dog. We think about how they stand, stretch, lounge, run, and move before we think about anything else.

We love great prints and personality, but design starts with comfort. A piece can be adorable and still miss the mark if it pulls in the wrong place, restricts movement, feels bulky, or simply isn't something a dog wants to wear.
The relationship between the neck, chest, shoulders, belly, and back matters. We think about those proportions so clothing sits naturally on a dog instead of behaving like a downsized human shirt.
Softness, stretch, warmth, weight, and flexibility all influence how a piece feels once it's actually being worn. Our goal is clothing dogs can comfortably live in.
Shoulder movement and chest comfort are especially important. Fabric choice and garment construction work together so the clothing can move with the dog instead of fighting against them.
Once comfort and function are handled, that's when the fun really begins. Prints, trims, textures, and details give each piece the personality Jax & Molly's is known for.
It sounds obvious, but it's one of the most important ideas behind our apparel. A dog's proportions, posture, and movement are completely different from ours.

There isn't one perfect clothing construction for every dog or every situation. That's why our pajama collection includes several different silhouettes.
A clean hem with no waistband for an easy, natural drape and straightforward everyday coverage.
Wider arm openings and a sleeveless shape give the shoulders and chest plenty of freedom while a soft waistband keeps everything comfortably in place.
Short sleeves follow the shoulder line for added coverage while still allowing comfortable movement through the front of the body.
Fit isn't only about measurements. Stretch, weight, softness, warmth, and recovery all affect how clothing moves and feels on a dog.
Flexible fabrics can move more naturally with the body.
Everyday pieces should feel good during long stretches of wear.
Lightweight pajamas and cozy fleece serve very different purposes.
Good stretch should still return comfortably instead of hanging loose.
Dogs with similar weights can have completely different proportions. Chest, back, and neck measurements give you a much better picture than weight alone.
We don't make dog clothes simply to put clothes on dogs. We make them because when something is comfortable, functional, and full of personality, dogs can actually enjoy wearing it.
